Gary Owens, Co-Founder of TenderCare Beds tells the story of how he created the revolutionary TenderCare Bed product.
" Due to an extraordinarily debilitating disease, my wife Gina, became confined to a hospital bed. As in most cases, a standard in-home hospital bed was used. From day one, Gina was self conscious about the institutional look of the bed. She hated it. My background is woodworking. So I designed and built her a beautiful headboard to make her feel better. From that effort, TenderCare Beds was born."
TenderCare Beds are made in facilities located outside of Atlanta, Georgia and Denver, Colorado. Skilled staff watch over every step of the manufacturing process to insure that every TenderCare Bed is made with exceptional care and uncompromising quality. Each bed is carefully crafted to be a fine piece of furniture.
Matching nightstands, footchest, wall shelves and other pieces are available to complete the room.

" But the best part of all, was seeing Dear Son’s face. We had been talking about the bed for some time now. When he got the hospital bed the first time, from the durable medical equipment supplier, there was nothing to talk about. I had talked to the DME about getting him a brand new hospital bed, so we didn’t have to have an ugly used one, but that was just to make the idea of a hospital bed palatable. But this time, I could get excited about the bed and Dear Son could too! He came home from school and I wheeled his wheelchair straight into the bedroom. He looked right at his new bed and broke out in a big smile. His eyes lit up and he couldn’t stop smiling. Later, when I layed him in the bed for the first time, he looked straight up at the headboard with a big grin on his face. You could see it in his eyes, that he was happy. And that was the best part! "

In some cases, a couple will want to sleep
together, eventhough one of them requires a hospital bed. We offer a unique solution as seen in these two pictures.
On the left is the before. They are two standard Invacare home hospital beds.
On the right , we custom built two halves of a whole Headboard and Footboard set that can be pulled apart for function and yet when pushed together appear to be a beautiful king sized normal looking bed.
